Most common protocol
Split into 2–3 doses with meals (e.g. 500–600 mg with breakfast and dinner) to maintain steady plasma levels and minimize GI effects.
Common transient effects
Mild GI symptoms (loose stools, cramping, nausea) — usually dose-related and more common above 1,500 mg/day. Start low and titrate up.
